I love Alison, her character is just so fascinating to me. She's smart enough to talk in code, lay clues, make friends with Cece and yet, she still has her vulnerable side. She's basically a mystery that we uncover more about as we watch the show. What I love even more is her character development. She's an amazing character tbh. Sasha is so talented she portrays Alison so perfectly at such a young age.

Imagine feeling the earth crushing in you , unable to scream , unable to breathe. She was tortured in so many ways and that's why she craves power more than ever. She's so scared that she has to make others feel the same so that she feels more confident. I'm not saying the ways she can act are right, but you have to remember everything she's been though too , this is just how she deals with it. She is very misunderstood, maybe I'm misunderstanding , but you can never really KNOW Ali. I don't think she even knows herself. All I'm saying is that you have to appreciate how much Alison went though and how much she had to deal with, she had no one that she truly believed would stand by her side if things went bad. So she made people feel like they had to be or else she would expose their darkest secrets. It was how she felt safe. I don't agree with what she did / does but I understand and I do like Alison ( most of the time)
Sasha played the role with such color that you really feel the pressure the girls were in. How not only she endeared herself to her friends, freezed out her friends that crossed her, and manipulated in that teenage mindset. I am so sorry that people confused the actresses with her role and bullied her online. From what ai’ve seen, Sasha was a pretty nice person.

At 9:42 when she comes to Spencer's she eats a bite of an apple and says "your family has the worst apples". Get it? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Alison was a class act, the girls really were her dolls. She could easily manipulate and toy with them. Too bad the show kinda got messed up later on over the seasons, but I still loved it despite the unanswered questions.

Seeing all of these flashbacks makes me realize that the show would've been a good mystery/thriller and with no A. A mean girl disappears in a small town where everyone hated her and had a motive to kill her. Mona and Lucas were bullied , Jenna was blinded by her , Toby was sent to jail , Byron was blackmailed etc. And throughout the season they would've been questioning everybody and showing flashbacks and in the end finally reveal who killed her. Alison was a mysterious girl with a bunch of secrets which made her character so interesting and that's why she should've stayed dead. It would've been a great twist if the liars all planned to kill her that night and they drugged themselves to have an alibi.
the earlier seasons had this almost "horror" and "scary" feel to it that sadly got lost as the show progressed, the only redeeming quality was the Dollhouse in season 5/6 where the show almost went back to it's mystery/thriller roots but ultimately in season 6B is where it's ruined again.

I agree that Ali was a jerk sometimes, and downright horrible to Hanna--I would actually like Ali a lot more if she hadn't manipulated Hanna so much about her body image. But I think It comes from something deeper. We see her mom asking her to lie, her dad keeping secrets, and who knows what Jason did. And she was already an impulsive person. I think the mean streak hides a lot of stuff below the surface, and being mean and manipulative is how she copes because she knows no other way. Not saying that excuses things she did! But she's not just a "mean queen bee"--there's a lot more behind it.
@@Quaronna In my case, you're mostly correct, haha. I read the first two books after watching the first five seasons of the show, but didn't enjoy them as much. I had a difficult time being stuck in the girls' heads during the parts of the books from their perspective, particularly Aria; granted I may have felt different if I had read them as a teenager compared to in my late 20's. I really enjoyed the characters in the show, though! I have all the seasons on DVD and like rewatching looking for clues :)

Holy crap, I loved her bitchy personality. I know it has some bully in there but I just realized she did all that to wake people up and do things right and differently ^.. She had her vulnerable side and sweet one, I just love that.^^.... God, she was only 12 when she filmed all of these episodes x.x.. By watching Flashbacks and old seasons you can really see the great actress she is after all, not matter the age she started... I totally admire her, she's my favorite since the beginning. To be honest, she loved Emily more than a friend too, I guess Alison was too scared to show her feelings or was confused on how to do it, but you can clearly see she felt a lot for Emily :')

I agree that Ali was a jerk sometimes, and downright horrible to Hanna--I would actually like Ali a lot more if she hadn't manipulated Hanna so much about her body image. But I think It comes from something deeper. We see her mom asking her to lie, her dad keeping secrets, and who knows what Jason did. And she was already an impulsive person. I think the mean streak hides a lot of stuff below the surface, and being mean and manipulative is how she copes because she knows no other way. Not saying that excuses things she did! But she's not just a "mean queen bee"--there's a lot more behind it.
I feel like most of you PLL fans don't read the books.
@@Quaronna In my case, you're mostly correct, haha. I read the first two books after watching the first five seasons of the show, but didn't enjoy them as much. I had a difficult time being stuck in the girls' heads during the parts of the books from their perspective, particularly Aria; granted I may have felt different if I had read them as a teenager compared to in my late 20's. I really enjoyed the characters in the show, though! I have all the seasons on DVD and like rewatching looking for clues :)

Holy crap, I loved her bitchy personality. I know it has some bully in there but I just realized she did all that to wake people up and do things right and differently ^.. She had her vulnerable side and sweet one, I just love that.^^.... God, she was only 12 when she filmed all of these episodes x.x.. By watching Flashbacks and old seasons you can really see the great actress she is after all, not matter the age she started... I totally admire her, she's my favorite since the beginning. To be honest, she loved Emily more than a friend too, I guess Alison was too scared to show her feelings or was confused on how to do it, but you can clearly see she felt a lot for Emily :')

trough the whole show they explain that even tho she was very mean to them, she had her vulnerable side. she would make them feel special and like they were a part of something, so she would insult them, then compliment them.
