Biography
editDVTR was formed in 2023 by Laurence Giroux-Do and JC Tellier, both of whom had been part of the live lineup of Le Couleur, a popular francophone electronic band from Quebec. The duo combines elements of post-punk, garage rock, and electroclash, with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and energetic performances.
Their debut single, *DVTR*, was released on April 28, 2023, through Lisbon Lux Records. The track quickly gained attention and helped the band secure appearances at several major Canadian festivals, including FME, Festif de Baie St-Paul, and the OFF de Québec Festival in 2023.[1][2]
The band’s live performances, known for their high energy and creative visuals, have garnered critical acclaim from underground music outlets.[3][4] Their music videos have been praised for their creativity and unique concepts.
In addition to their success in Canada, DVTR has performed in several international locations, including Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and Europe.[5]
In 2024, DVTR released a deluxe version of their EP *BONJOUR (BIS)*, which received several awards, including "Revelation of the Year" and "Punk Album or EP of the Year" at the GAMIQ Awards in Montreal.[6][7]
