I've just downloaded the latest build, and i think i run into a game breaking bug.

1738456404573.png

After hoovering my mouse any of the interactable items, for a brief moment they are getting highlighted then its fade away.

Currently my cursor is at the Rum, but i cannot interact with it.

The only way i can get forward is spamming my mouse click on the mixer and after some time it finally registers the click.

---

Update 1, if i press left or right arrow on my keyboard i can make the highlight 'sticky' but after pressing enter, nothing happens.

for me, it worked fine. it might be working for you as well. you don't MOVE the ingredients, you just click on each, and then the mixer. in the order of the recipe- so "mohito" is click rum, click lime, click mixer. if you click lime, then rum, then mixer, you get the message "bad drink" and no tip. there is NO ANIMATION, and the ingredient does NOT disappear., just the highlight as your mouse goes over the item before you click. The result window pops up fairly quickly. Opening the drink recipe does NOT stop the clock.
You can usually make about $120 a session.
the ingredients are vodka, rum, berry juice, water melon, orandges, limes and lemons.
I get the one you have pictured mixed up- pretty sure it was rum, watermelon, lime, then mixer.

I think Im stuck it wont let me progress with Nadia. it keeps saying to read the book but when I do it says to check in with her
This is odd. Looking at the save file, it looks like you've done the choking scene? But the quest info/markers are showing you're past that. Did you use the gallery at all?

same here
Can you let me know what scene you saw before this happened?

I've tried to recreate this but I can't. Although I did stumble across an unrelated bug with the bartender..

Update:

With Mother and Daughter (Leo & Serena) artwork complete the crew are looking for direction on where to go next.

Either take this opportunity to work through the Leo & Serena routes or revisit the older scenes to get the style uniform across the board

Also taking a moment to show off the characters so far! This should be enough to keep things busy with the scenes...

Progress update:

Redo of Leo's first encounter scene. I was never 100% on the original and with the character design changed I'll take this opportunity to redo into something now I have more confidence in the direction.
I've also got a support artist now to help work on additional scenes as well. Still doing a trial run but fingers crossed this means more scenes in less time!

Until then, a snap from part 1 of 3 from the new redone scene... 10-03-25.png

No. I have the same issue. No amount of clicking or dragging or anything else makes the drink mixing thing work. Believe me, I TRIED. A LOT.

Damn ok. I've not been able to recreate the bug.
Are you using windows/Mac/Linux etc

Windows 7, Windows 10 and Linux Mint 20.3; behavior is identical. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I started to suspect the Win7 might be at fault but had no time to investigate until now. There's also that Win10 utterly refused to load my Win7 save with an empty parchment/scroll on a black page without any message on it - then Mint refused to load EITHER save from 7 OR 10 with the same result. At which point the penny finally dropped and I savagely murdered the save token checking routine in the Ren'Py folder and suddenly everything was loading fine. Still, that original empty message box is not ok...

Anyway, it seems technically speaking there is no bug as such at work here (I finally managed to mix a drink correctly), only VERY unresponsive UI. I can't see which ingredient is what unless I click them (and keep pressed!), i can't tell what did I already click and what I didn't (the highlight is practically indistinguishable from the base look), I can't tell if there's anything at all in the mixer or not, I can't remove ingredients* or simply reset if I realize I screwed up (except by committing and clicking the mixer knowing it's going to be bad, which might technically be the same effect as a reset would be but feels very "wrong" to the player), etc.

Seeing at least one other player experience the same difficulties as I was having while there was technically nothing wrong with our games suggests to me that the interface could use some polishing on this mini game, with much more feedback to the player as to what is going on, including being able to read the labels without clicking. And the timed thing is not helpful at all - a limited number of mixes would achieve a similar result without needlessly aggravating the player who is already struggling trying to figure out why nothing seems to be happening except bad drinks.

* some might argue you can't take ink out of water after you poured it in so this works as it _has_ to - to which others might counter that no such implication necessarily exists: one could consider ingredients clicks as a mere declaration of _intent_ about what we _would_ pour into the mixer when we "finish" our selection by clicking it, implying selection could easily allow "unselecting" ingredient without "contradicting" anything or being "unrealistic".
