Feeling unwell after a day full of meetings during her business trip, Vana decides to take advantage of the hotel doctor service. Her history is interesting: a diagnosed diabetic with anxiety-induced palpitations and breathlessness, Vana hasn't had a general check-up in almost 2 years. It's now time for someone to pay her the attention she deserves.

The Doctor begins by checking her eyes, ears, throat and temperature.

He then checks her BP in sitting and standing positions. Her BP is a little high (135/87).

He then goes on to give her an extremely thorough auscultation of her lungs over her back and chest as she's sitting up.

He continues by listening to her heart with the diaphragm and bell of his stethoscope in sitting position, before getting her to lie down flat on her back to examine her lungs and heart again. He listens and feels with his hand with extreme care, making sure he gets the maximum information about her heart using only his stethoscope and his hands.

Vana is an experienced and intelligent woman, but she can't help feeling slightly embarrassed and nervous during the examination (especially after the Doctor instructs her to unhook her bra). She's clearly not used to a doctor examining her in such detail, and with such close and undivided attention.

Once satisfied with his auscultation of her heart and lungs, the Doctor will continue with an equally thorough abdominal & breast exam... But this is the subject matter of our next video...
